Founded by Nestlé, the Alimentarium is the first museum in the world entirely dedicated to food, opening up a dialogue on past and present eating habits through its interactive displays. Situated on the Vevey lakeshore, the Alimentarium can be easily identified by the giant fork embedded in Lake Geneva.
Vevey History Museum
During this cultural visit, children and adults learn about the history of the Vaudois town through ancient objects, canvases and photographs. Near Lake Geneva, Vevey History Museum shares its premises with the Confrérie des Vignerons, the winemaking society that organises the legendary Fête des Vignerons.
Brotherhood of Winegrowers Museum
The Brotherhood of Winegrowers in Vevey by Lake Geneva tells the story of this mythical society known for organising the Fête des Vignerons wine festival. The main purpose of the ‘Confrérie’ is to protect the interests of vineyards and vine growers, particularly in the UNESCO-listed Lavaux wine region.
Swiss Camera Museum
A stone’s throw from Lake Geneva, the Swiss Camera Museum offers adults and children alike the chance to discover everything about the art of photography, with kids workshops every Saturday and a photo club. Free audio-guides and a smartphone app are available.
Jenisch Museum Vevey
The Musée Jenisch and the Cabinet Cantonal des Estampes in Vevey are entirely devoted to works on paper, with a unique collection of drawings and engravings in Switzerland.
Swiss Game Museum
Housed in Tour-de-Peilz Castle, near Vevey and Lake Geneva, the collections of the Swiss Museum of Games offer a wealth of entertaining information about the universal concept of games through the ages and across borders. Families can also participate in a board game in the games room.
Musée de Montreux
Near the railway station, Montreux Museum is a mine of information on the history of the lakeside town, characterised by the beginnings of tourism in the Belle Epoque. Open from April to November, Montreux Museum is a cultural attraction for the whole family.
On the hills overlooking the Swiss Riviera, the Blonay-Chamby railway and museum takes its visitors on a journey through time every weekend from May to October. Guided by train enthusiasts, adults and children marvel at these truly historic trains.
Villa « Le Lac » Le Corbusier
In 1923, Le Corbusier built the Villa « Le Lac » near Vevey. This masterpiece of the Modern Movement had a great impact on 20th century architecture. It has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage programme since 2016.
