TGV Lyria (High Speed Train)

The GoldenPass Line is one of the most scenic routes of Switzerland. It links Montreux Riviera to Lake Lucerne.

By car and by bus

Nestled in the heart of Europe, the Montreux Riviera region is easily accessible by car via the Swiss motorway network. It is crossed by the A1 motorway connecting Austria to France.

Speed limits
  • In town: 30 to 60 km / h (18-37 mph)
  • Outside the localities 70 to 80 km / h (44-50 mph)
  • On the motorway: 100 to 120 km / h (62 to 75mph)
In Switzerland, you need to buy a sticker for paying toll on motorways. Available at CHF 40.00, it is valid for the current year to 31 January of the following year. To buy in post offices or service stations.

By boat

Compagnie Générale de Navigation (CGN) provides a regular service across the banks of Lake Geneva, notably between France and the 10 piers of the region Montreux Riviera.

One of the advantages of Montreux is the short walking distance: 15 minutes to walk through the town.

Public transport

SBB - Railway
The Montreux Train Station is just 10 minutes walk from the city center. It offers easy access to major cities in Switzerland and Europe.
