Role of Montreux-Vevey Tourisme in the filming process

Within the framework of its activities, Montreux-Vevey Tourisme provides assistance to the productions in the following way:
  • Assistance with arranging a site inspection
  • Providing contact details for the various local authorities
  • For editorial shoots featuring Montreux Riviera as a tourism destination, please contact us using the form at the bottom of this page.
For all other requests, Montreux‐Vevey Tourisme refers productions to local production agencies including:

Film Location Riviera

Film Location Riviera is an association which ensures that film crews are suitably accommodated in Montreux Riviera.

Since 2018, Montreux-Vevey Tourism manages Film Location Riviera. For this reason, every requests regarding films shooting should be sent to the following e-mail address : flr@montreuxriviera.com.  

Filming in the public space

For editorial shoots and small productions (<10 people) in public spaces, a filming permit is not necessary. 
For requests to film in public areas which could disturb or obstruct the movement of persons or road traffic, or require private parking spaces, productions should seek authorisation from the relevant police station and local authority. The application should be made in advance within a reasonable period of time depending on the scale of the production. (min. 1 month in advance).

Filming in private space (inside & outside)

Requests to film in private spaces (e.g. museums and their grounds) are subject to prior approval in advance by the owner or manager of the site. The application should be made in advance within a reasonable period of time depending on the scale of the production (min. 10 working days in advance).

Filming with a drone

In the entire public area of the Montreux Riviera destination and in the absence of municipal regulations, the use of UAVs is governed by Swiss law, the information on which you will find here :

The use of a UAV over a private space (inside & outside) requires prior authorization from the owner or manager of the site.
