Montreux-Vevey Tourisme (MVT) is actively involved in the Swisstainable program, the national initiative led by Switzerland Tourism to promote sustainable tourism development in Switzerland. MVT is classified at Level II – Engaged, having joined two initiatives: VAUD AMBASSADEUR and OK:GO.
At the heart of Montreux-Vevey Tourism’s 2030 strategy, the promotion of high-quality, sustainable tourism is one of the three fundamental pillars. To bring this vision to life, several measures are being implemented, with a particular focus on getting local stakeholders to join the Swisstainable program.

In December 2025, Montreux-Vevey Tourism was awarded the VAUD AMBASSADOR label, a mark of excellence in the Canton of Vaud, by Vaud Promotion. It is the 85th company to join this network of Vaud-based businesses and entrepreneurs from all sectors who share common values and contribute to the canton’s appeal. To achieve this, an independent expert conducted a sustainability audit based on 23 criteria of social responsibility.

The OK:GO initiative is aimed at all tourism providers in Switzerland, collecting and publishing information on the accessibility of their offerings and services. This helps facilitate travel planning and promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities and limited mobility.
Information on the accessibility of the Montreux-Vevey Tourism information points is available to guests.
