My day in Lavaux

Prince’s lyrics resonate like a hymn as we approach the place which is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This man-made landscape, comprising 10,000 terraces facing Lake Geneva, gives off an almost mystical energy. It is thus with the greatest respect that we prepare to enter this sacred land.
Off we go on a journey through paradise, among nature, ancient villages and breathtaking views!

Steps
1. Lavaux Panoramic
Setting off to Chexbres from the Place du Marché de Vevey on board the Lavaux Panoramic, the little train that weaves its way through the Lavaux vines. A charming alternative to Swiss Rail!
2. A walk in Chexbres
This village is not known as the “Balcony of Lake Geneva” for nothing! A dizzying number of viewing points that, moreover, inspired the Swiss artist Ferdinand Hodler.
3. Tasting at Bovy
It’s high time we visited the Domaine Bovy to taste some Lavaux wines. A wonderful welcome, passionate explanations, and... love at first sip for the Dézaley AOC Grand Cru.
4. In and around the vineyards
It is said that people started building the terraces and walls at the beginning of the 11th century... That means we are on land where vines have been cultivated for a thousand years!
5. The Auberge de Rivaz
After a 20-minute walk (downhill!) through the landscape, we arrive at the Auberge de Rivaz for a bite to eat. The food is tasty, the place is beautiful, and the service is impeccable.
6. Rivaz Plage
What could be better than a little digestive siesta down by the lakeside? We try to keep our eyes open, however, to admire the view and to take a dip in this magnificent setting.
7. Train ride back to Vevey
A 12-minute ride on a Swiss Rail train brings us back to Vevey. And we take advantage of the fact that Rivaz station is just above the beach!
