For wine connoisseurs or fans of local products, meeting the winemaker is the best way to sample the region’s fine wines. At the Caveau des vignerons d’Epesses, more than twenty winemakers serve their specialities from the UNESCO Lavaux vineyards.
In the Lavaux vineyard terraces, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, Epesses is known for its dry, fruity wines, enjoyed on all the best tables in Switzerland.
Located on one of the village’s characteristic narrow streets, the Caveau des vignerons d’Epesses welcomes its guests in an authentic vaulted wine cellar.
Every week, the winemakers take turns in serving their guests and introducing them to the appellations Epesses, Calamin and Dézaley. The wines can be purchased or sampled – by the glass or bottle. The wine cellar is open from April to mid-November, Thursday to Sunday, between 5 and 9 p.m.
For a family celebration or an unforgettable corporate event including culinary specialities served by a local provider, the wine cellar can be booked for 15 to 70 people.
