In the heart of the Lavaux vineyard terraces, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, the Caveau des vignerons de Villette welcomes connoisseurs of Swiss wines and curious visitors for wine tastings served by the artisan winemakers themselves.
The wine whites of the appellation Villette show off to great effect the predominant grape variety in Lavaux and the Lake Geneva Region, the chasselas. The Caveau des vignerons de Villette opens its doors every weekend for visitors to sample these wines, as well as other whites (pinot blanc, pinot gris, chardonnay, viognier, sauvignon, etc.) or reds (pinot noir, gamay, Plant Robert, etc.). It also organises tastings for groups of 20 to 40 people for private parties.
Seven appellation Villette producers take turns in serving their wines from April to October, from Friday to Sunday, between 5 and 9 p.m. And for a complete wine tourism experience, the Lavaux Express train on wheels offers trips from Villette to the neighbouring vineyard villages, with stunning views over Lake Geneva.
