Church Notre Dame

The Notre-Dame-des-Vignes Church in Lavaux was designed by architects Paul-Louis Tardin and Fonso Boschetti on a plot located at a place called “Les Communaux,” at the foot of the vineyard. The cornerstone was laid in September 1964, and the building was consecrated on October 18, 1965, by Bishop François Charrière.

With a square floor plan, the church is topped by an imposing pyramidal reinforced concrete roof, the apex of which is offset from the altar and features a triangular skylight. The exposed concrete structure and interior spaces give it unique acoustics, making it a popular venue for concerts as well.
