Highway to Hell (AC/DC, 1979)
From 69.00 CHF
No panic ! We won’t bring you to hell on this tour, but we will go into the prison of the castle of Chillon. There, we'll explore a specific reading of Lord Byron’s poem: « The prisoner of Chillon » and its less known connections with the best known horror stories like Frankenstein and the vampires… Before discovering those dark secrets, we will take a walk through a wild forest, hiding a sort of Japanese garden. We’ll follow a path and marvel at the impressive 45 meter tall concrete pylons, which support the highway A9. An architectural wonder!
A discovery of a natural landscape interrupted by modernity. The end of the world or civilization at its best ? It is up to you to make your own impression!
Our journey continues and we will discover the stages of the construction of the « Viaduc of Chillon », this architectural edifice built between 1966 and 1969, its strategical and historical importance, which had already begun in Celtic times.
During this excursion we will taste a local white wine at a beautiful spot where you can enjoy an amazing and unusual view on the Castle of Chillon, and the entire Lake of Geneva.
Our walk will continue along some typical « Swiss » little paths, with quite pronounced altitude differences. All of this is what we call the Highway to Hell…
After this experience, you’ll be set free to visit the entire Castle of Chillon.
Note: the price of the entry to the castle isn’t included in the fare of the tour. Half price with Riviera Card (hotels, BnB’s)
