Eugene Onegin accompanies his friend Lenski to the home of his fiancée Olga. Tatiana, Olga's sister, confesses her love to Onegin. But he rejects her. At a ball, he amuses himself by flirting with Olga to the point of angering his friend, who challenges him to a duel.
