Glacier 3000 is the leading excursion destination in the permanent snow areas of the Swiss mountains. A breathtaking panorama of the highest Alpine summits.
From the Pillon Pass, the cable car goes up to 3,000 metres in 15 minutes. At the top, you will for-get everything. The view of the all-year-round snow and the impressive mountain chains is mind-blowing. Further down, the valleys of French-speaking Switzerland and the Bernese Oberland re-gions are fascinating.
The Alpine Coaster, at the summit station, is the world’s highest railway-sledge installation. The one-kilometre descent, comprises 520° of looping, ten curves, six waves, three jumps and two bridges. The Alpine Coaster is open between May and end-September. To enjoy a unique experience, try this crazy descent and get your adrenalin pumping!
The excursions on the glacier in the “Snow Buses” with sled dogs are great fun. Visitors of all ages enjoy the glacier walks and the Scex Rouge View Point, from where you can see 24 peaks four thousand metres high or more, including the famous Jungfrau, Matterhorn and Mont Blanc.
Glacier 3000 is also a ski area, open from November to May, covering 25km of ski pistes between 3,000 and 1,350 metres.
From the high restaurant, designed by the illustrious Mario Botta, you have an unimpeded view of the glacier. There are local and international menus. Deckchairs are available on the terrace for sunbathing and enjoying the blue sky and the warmth of the sun.
