Gruyère region
The mediaeval town of Gruyères is situated in the foothills of the pre-Alps and gives its name to its internationally famous cheese.
Gruyères offers attractive, picturesque architecture, handicraft traditions and charming streets dotted with boutiques.
Its XIII century castle and the HR Giger Museum (creator of the famous “Alien”) are not to be missed, together with the Maison du Gruyère, a cheese factory open to the public.
