The Star Train, Vevey - Les Pléiades
To reach Les Pléiades from Vevey, the Star Train embarks on an ascent of 1,000 metres to reach a sport resort with a spectacular panorama: Pléiades.
It takes the Star Train 40 minutes from Vevey (383 m.) on the shore of Lake Geneva to Pléiades (1,348 m.) in the foothills of the Alps. The ascent is steep and the train uses a cog in certain parts of the way. The train runs every day and every hour.
Stopping at St-Légier, Blonay and Pléiades, the Star Train crosses narcissi fields and pastures and yields stunning views of Lake Geneva and Rochers-de-Naye.
Pléiades is sportspeople’s highly prized destiny: skiers in winter, paragliders, mountain bikers and hikers in summer. The name of Pléiades was predestined to receive the star path, which is sponsored by Claude Nicollier, the first Swiss spationaut.
Restaurants and Alpine pubs propose terroir dishes and thirst-quenching drinks in every season.
