Grangettes: a walk for lovers of Nature
Preserved green areas, reedy marshes, marshland, alluvial forests, the former course of the river Rhone, artificial lakes, plantations of poplars and pines: this is Grangettes Nature Reserve.
For the physically fit, a two-hour hike via the path along the river Rhone takes them to the immense expanse of Grangettes. But you can also take the path from Villeneuve (45 minutes).
Located below Monts-d’Arvel and Grammont, near Villeneuve and Noville, Grangettes Nature Reserve is the last preserved area on the shore of Lake Geneva. Its wild beauty attracts all fans of unspoilt Nature, who find a paradise there.
Crouching patiently behind bushes or reeds, visitors can admire an abundant water fauna: egrets, kingfishers, beavers and migratory birds that find refuge in this biotope that is one of a kind in Europe.
