Growth of tae Asian markets made up for the loss of our European visitors, who had been hit hard by a strong Swiss franc. With an increase of over 8,000 Chinese visitors, China takes first place in the number of visitors from abroad, ahead of the United States, with a steady number of visitors. Although numbers did drop slightly, Switzerland still represents our most important market at 28% of the total number of visitors to the castle.

Proactive promotions in Asian countries as well as of the castle’s cultural activities to attract local visitors, such as exhibitions and events, have proven successful in maintaining Chillon Castle at the fore!
