Bouchon Vaudois
“Bouchon Vaudois” is a confectionery in the shape of a cork stopper, designed with the objective of becoming a symbolic speciality of the Canton of Vaud; this design was chosen because the Canton of Vaud is one of Switzerland’s main winegrowing cantons.
The “Bouchon Vaudois” is a registered brand (name and shape). Only members of the “Société Vaudoise et Romande” (French-speaking Vaud Association) of Confectioners and Chocolate and Ice Cream makers (SVRPPC) are allowed to produce them.
It is composed of a strongly almond-flavoured chocolate vol-au-vent perfumed with “Bitter de Diablerets” (a herbal-based alcoholic digestive from the Vaud mountains) in a crusty almond case.
The “Bouchon Vaudois” is often served as a delicacy with a coffee or simply to enjoy, like many other titbits.
