Lutry
The wines of Lutry develop some plant aromas that evoke the undergrowth with floral and fruity touches of rose and grapefruit, crowned with a hint of bitterness.
The size of a small city, Lutry is the link between Lausanne’s built-up area and the vineyards of Lavaux. Its origins date back to ancient times and there is a mention of a fishing village called “Lustriacum” during the Roman period. However, it was in the XIth century, with the establishment of a Benedictine monastery that Lutry really flourished.
A fortified city by the Middle Ages, numerous relics of its past still exist, including the ramparts and its castle.
